Morse Player will convert textual content into Morse code (CW) sounds. It has two modes, actual time and text file encoding. In actual time mode, characters entered from the keyboard will be performed as they are typed. In file mode, a file can be loaded and performed again as CW. Using Morse Player is a good means to go from figuring out the Morse code characters to hearing phrases. It is not designed to particularly be a coach, however coaching files may be generated and used to learn the characters. For instance, I ve created files with ham radio name signs to assist in call sign recognition for CW novice radio contesting. Also, using the real time mode and typing the characters is a good means to be taught their sounds. Free public area books from http://www.gutenberg.org can be downloaded and performed as Morse code in Morse Player. Listening to these books in Morse code is a good method to improve conversational CW copying skills. The solely file format supported is UTF-eight.
